Silver Stallion Suite

She walks on down the busy streets,
A sea of faces lies at her feet,
Silver stallions run through her mind,
They beat in time with her heart, unkind,

Moonlit sorrows fill her weary eyes,
Wishes and dreams fill the misty skies,
And the mist is in her eyes,
                                           Softly and silently she cries,

The summer breeze caresses her hair,

                                                                            …she doesn’t care

             Exit starlight
             Enter the night,

                                                Ease your heart and mind,

                                         Starlit shadows dart,
Like quick silver in the night,
                         Starlit silence,
                              Soothing and soft,
                                             Gentle hoof beat serenade,
                                       Swiftly they appear,
                                       Slowly they fade,

                                                                   ... into the hazy mist,

We never hear them sing,
We never hear them cry,
We never hear them ring out,
We never hear them die,

                                                    Silver Stallion Serenade,
                                     Soothing and soft,
                                                           Starlit silence,
                                                              Soft light lost,

                                      Her eyes speak secrets,
                                                        So smooth,
                                                             So slow,
                                                  Soft as a silhouette,

        beneath,
        below,
        without,
        within,

               Her eyes speak her secrets,
                                                           Her lips paint her sins,

                             They rush to the river

Beneath the stars, shallow and pale,
Below the tattered satin, pin-holed veil,
Without a sound, beats her heart’s desire,
Within her dark eyes, reflects a hidden fire,

She breathes a single word into the air,
Enticing sideways glances and flashlight fears,

One Thousand Stallions inside her brain,
The roar of the wind caught in their silvery manes,
A Stampede of stoic beasts on the silver sand,
Erode the precious shores of this delicate land.
